My name is Linux Torvalds and I pronounce Linus "Linux"
I'm David BeOS and I pronounce BeOS "The Bee Operating System"
@cwebber According ti all known laws of computer science, there is no way that BeOS should be able to run
@cwebber I’m Johnny Appleseed and I pronounce macOS as “Macintosh Operating System” or “macOS” or “Mac O.S.” or “System Software” or System Twenty Seven or a random geographical feature in northern California or Rhapsody (if you’re nasty)
@cwebber Bees in your computer? It's more likely than you think! [Free Bee Check]
@cwebber the boot screen cites the script of the Bee Movie
@cwebber Jean BeOS, surely
Back in 1999-2000, my friend (middle, first pic) tried to launch a company focusing on BeOS-based computer systems targeted at media creators. Our small team went out to SIGGRAPH '99 in L.A. to hopefully kickstart it. Obviously, that didn't happen, but I did briefly meet Jean-Louis Gassée.
Anyway, it was fun to see a BeOS reference for the first time in ages. Thanks for that!
@cwebber some operating system developers are named Dick Pick
@cwebber ackthually I think by "Linus" you're referring to the system known as *ai/linus* pronounced.....
