Did you know that my girlfriend @vv was a LINUX INFLUENCER 19 years ago as a teenager making this video of Compiz Fusion that got millions of views made from her parents' attic using a physical camera because linux screen capture wasn't good enough at the time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4Fbk52Mk1w
I rewatched the video. Still rules

Mann, compiz stuff is one of those "How come they could put a man on the moon in the 1960s and they can't do it now??" kind of stuff.
You're telling me we used to have fun desktop effects and actully-helpful accessibility features like zoom and focus? Nowadays, when I hear that someone's coming out with a new computer feature, I mentally rehearse the code to my panic room.
@cwebber @vv My professor in cillege asked me to bring my desktop into my basic Linux class to show this off. Nothing like driving a scooter down a busy state road with a case and a quarter sized gaming PC sitting where your feet go.
Oh shit, I'm old!
Linux used to be so cool... Now its turning to AI slop.
@cwebber I seem to remember this video... Was it published on https://omgubuntu.com?

@cwebber @vv The video rocks. What happened to Compiz anyways? Are there some distributions that are using it or was it never more than a tech demo?
