the fun thing about being a programmer with dyslexia is discovering code by people who have even worse spelling than you
I'm editing some code that uses the word "derserialize". Where did that "R" come from?" You can serialize things, but then you derserialize them?

@foone Also possibly "duhserialize" or "doyserialize", although as others have said it's clearly "derp" so nm.

DER also stands for Designated Engineering Representative - the person sent by the FAA to look at your aircraft modification to sign off on the airworthiness certification. I've never seen them send multiple people, but if you have a reputation for creative modifications they could conceivably send a bunch who'd might want to look at your plane one after the other. DERserialization. 🤷

@pinkberet I had a similar misspelling when I was a little kid, because I misheard "platform" as "flatform", in the context of lego base plates. and I was like "they are flat, it makes sense, they are flatforms.
If 'under' means 'below', then 'der' must mean 'above'. So you're serializing things while in a plane.

@foone yes! The irony about being dyslexic; your whole body will stop like a train hitting a wall when you hit a misspelled word.
