We need a major public service campaign to tell people not to take advice from bots.
This is a story about the horrific nature of the US health care system.
"Wan began messaging ChatGPT in February 2023, and eventually asked the chatbot for medical advice after her epilepsy necessitated her taking disability leave from her software job at Amazon before eventually being laid off in 2025."
She wasn't asking chatgpt because she was stupid, but because she'd lost her job due to her medical condition and was therefore unable to access good advice from a real doctor.

@georgetakei perhaps her family should consider suing OpenAI. They are after all responsible for what their product does.
