Sunrise colors rise above a beaver meadow and creek channel, the marsh grass browning, trees mostly bare of leaves, the scene muted by a misty morning fog. It's a bit eerie but pretty.

A long, thin mink with gray-brown fur looks back at the camera through tall brown reed fronds while stretched out vertically on a log in a marsh. Its ears are tiny, eyes beady and its nose small and full of whiskers on either side. Its tail is long and black.

A large, white and mature trumpeter swan floating the shallows in the morning sun, its beak big and black, with a much smaller duck next to it, a widgeon.
