We have several community orchards and gardens around my area. In the summer, when helping remove some nettles from a raspberry patch someone told me they were uncertain about what things were and when to pick them. Being a bit old school I've decided to create a web page for each location and for each type of food. I'm imagining that laminated QR codes (with human-readable text) could be attached to, say, the base of trees or put on sticks next to things so that people can find out more.

I've also made a page for each location (e.g. the community garden https://horsforth.town/free-food/community-garden/) which lists the types of food growing there.
For instance, here's a page about apples https://horsforth.town/free-food/apples/ It is pretty basic right now but lists the local locations where apples are growing, when you can harvest them, and some pictures.
