The glowing Apple logo on the new MacBook Pro models is controllable by software. It has a 25kHz PWM frequency and per-device calibration. CoreBrightness implements automatic brightness and controls the relationship between display and logo brightness. One interesting tidbit: the brightness of the logo is adjusted differently depending on the enclosure color.
