Hey mastodon ! As part of a desperate effort to fight back ensloppification in an place I won't name thats important to me, it would help if I became super fast at taking notes on the computer during meetings.
For context, I type at roughly 90 WPM for non-code and I use a Colemak-dh layout, but i dont know anythning about steno or note-taking.
The meetings will be in French, so one thing I'm considering is switching to the Ergo layout.
Any advice to take me to the next level ?
@spawnie my ceiling is ~125wpm, on all of QWERTY, Dvorak, and a slightly modified Engram. The layout didn't help much, stayed in the same ballpark.
My advice would be to learn steno - it's a steep curve, but that gets you way above regular typing speed. It's also quite fun to build your own steno dictionary, once you're past the initial hurdles.
