I don't want to be a pedant, but I think this distinction is important: "CSAM" is not a general term for pedophilic material. It refers specifically to child pornography in which a child was DIRECTLY involved, ie videos or photographs of actual children. It does not refer to drawn or written porn.
Whether pedophilic material whose production doesn't involve child abuse is wrong is a different matter, but it's not CSAM.
One of the reasons this distinction is important is that when you report drawings or stories as CSAM to the authorities, you are taking resources from actual childhood sexual abuse victims. Also, and I'm saying this as a CSA survivor, comparing someone doing a drawing or writing a story to them actually sexually abusing a child is deeply offensive.
