my new thing is trying to put as much of my network configuration as possible into a single big python deployment script, and just deploying disposable instances of the entire thing every time i want to test it

@scanlime sort of a DIY terraform? I used to have a setup like that back in the day
@fluffy yeah basically. i looked at some tools like terraform but i really didn't trust the dependencies and i didn't see a justification for so much complexity. so my thing is just python and some basic libs, uses the linode rest api
@scanlime yeah terraform is pretty overly-complicated for homelab purposes. I had to work with it at a couple of jobs where it made some amount of sense for doing, like, S3 config management with redundancy and load balancers and such, but I absolutely would not use it for personal use
@fluffy there's that, plus like i'm very picky about the dependencies i install on my personal admin system
some people bring livecoding to new domains but i keep bringing eprom erasers with me into new domains
