A lot of races are trending blue in the US, but I don't trust the results yet. Swings can happen late in the count, because there are a lot of systematic effects on which votes get counted last, and so it's not at all strange if a race suddenly swings one way or the other towards the end. 😬
And some of these races are CLOSE.
Currently, all of the top TX state offices are at >55% Democrat: Gov, Lt. Gov, Atty Gen, Land, RR, Ag, & Comptroller. I don't think I've ever seen that.
The TX Supreme court seats up for election are all currently trending blue.
Also Criminal Appeals court seats.
And the TX board of education seats.
Seems like a lot of TX Dems showed up and voted all down the ballot.
We're still counting, though.
@TerryHancock Yeah; I saw that on the NPR live page, too. My inclination was to expect a lot of split-ticketing, specifically because of not having Abbott's datacenter weakness and Paxton's literal-everything weakness. That sort of late shift still feels like a very real possibility.
Particularly shocking is that, with 54% of the vote in, MY DEEP RED RURAL TEXAS district is still trending BLUE... 56%/43%.
OMG, will I have a Dem rep again..?
I cannot allow myself to look too closely at this, lest I jinx it. 😬
