House flip!
Open the map and zoom in on Florida 10th

The same map link will display all flipped districts as long as I can stay awake this evening. You will need to reload the map to see any changes.

Open GISsurfer map:

GISsurfer lets you surf a nearly endless amount of GIS data. Click a layer in the GIS server's table of contents and that data appears on the map.

@mappingsupport Unrelated to this, thoughts on if this will impact anything?

@ai6yr Yeah, I saw that. It is hard, at least for me, to think it will have much negative impact when those maps go away. That was a tiled dataset that combined aerial photos and contour lines.

Contour lines are available for GIS savvy software from https://carto.nationalmap.gov/arcgis/rest/services/contours/MapServer

Thus, that contour data can be display on any basemap including more recent aerials that might be specific to a county or city.

@ai6yr @mappingsupport so they just won't have a product like that anymore?

@douglasvb @mappingsupport That's what I am wondering... just going to disappear completely?!?!

@ai6yr @douglasvb BTW, that contour data is hardcoded as an overlay in GISsurfer.

@ai6yr @mappingsupport I guess if we want that sort of thing in the future we'll have to pay some company to get it?

@douglasvb @ai6yr One option is to "roll your own" by combining any GIS aerial photos with any contour line data. For example, my county has really nice aerial photos in a GIS layer and a contour line layer produced from lidar data. I forget if the contour lines are 2 foot or 5 foot interval but they clearly show the drainage swales I made across our 5 acres.

@mappingsupport @douglasvb Well, that's pretty cool! I will figure out something, I am currently using the USGS Topo that is being eliminated for my fire maps at @nifc_bot
