Overheard at a Santa Fe County voting location today. A voter arrived, with his dog. Poll worker checking the voter in asked the dog’s name.
Voter: “Oscar”
PW: “Does Oscar want to register and vote today?”
Voter: “No. He’s a convicted felon.”

(Note: in reality, in NM felons who have completed their sentences are eligible to vote.)
