Chinese embassy suggests explosive found at PNG wharf a 'wine bottle' that 'poses no danger'
Exclusive by Papua New Guinea correspondent Marian Faa
In short:
Chinese government officials have suggested a large shell-shaped object found at a Papua New Guinea wharf is a "wine bottle".
A police report has identified it as an undetonated artillery projectile that contains chemical explosives and a fuse.
@jalefkowit Garsh, a <airquote>wine bottle</airquote> with two copper "turning-bands" near the base. I'm guessing it fits nicely in a large calibre gun of some kind.
