MRI booking update… and it’s not good:
They’re booking into JUNE.
JUNE… for an urgent brain and orbit MRI scan for investigating a possible Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. For a patient who is already high risk and living with another autoimmune disease and multiple disabilities.
Does healthcare really even exist in Alberta? I can’t fight this broken system anymore. It’s broken me.
So, it looks like I’ll have no choice but to private pay for my scans.
The #mutualaid post I spoke about will like be upcoming once I have all the details all sorted out. Ty all for your support and love. (Rough estimate from private facility: $1,000 - $1,450 CAD)

@britt Brutal. If you can get the funds, please focus on getting that MRI & any additional treatments needed to get you better.
I'm sorry to hear this is happening but not too surprised with increasing health care crisis. I'm also glad you shared this because many people in Canada & more beyond our borders don't get how broken health care systems under crisis works in Canada. Several people die waiting for diagnosis scans & more die waiting for essential life saving treatments to happen.
I've witnessed it happen as a health care worker. I'm scared my Mom may not beat her cancer if they keep delaying treatments that she needs. We're barely able to keep up with finances as is.
