Since we don't know when we'll get any more new #StarTrek, Buu and I are going to watch what we have in our DVD collection. We're starting with #TheNextGeneration. I've seen the entire series a few times, but it's been a while and there's a lot I've forgotten. I'll share my thoughts as we go.

@sapphire I rewatched the episode "Drumhead" last week. Still a fantastic episode.
Encounter at Far Point:
I remembered it being campy, but WHOA! The series doesn't find its footing until Season 3. I'm glad it stayed on air long enough to do so. The addition of Q was to pad the episode to 2 hours. The Trek universe is much better for the addition of Q, but this episode *feels* stretched. There are scenes you can tell they're trying to pad the runtime. The episode did pull my nostalgia strings though!
The Naked Now:
The music seems overly-dramatic & draws my attention away from the scene instead of pulling me into it. I don't remember this being an issue later in the series. We get the one and only appearance of Chief Engineer MacDougal, tho she appears in a later episode as a shift manager or something? She seems like she'd have been fun. Troi calls Riker "Bill" - how often does that happen?
Code of Honor:
Among the most racist things Star Trek ever did. Most of the cast regrets having worked on that episode. Interestingly, they used the phrase "the prime directive" to mean something more like "we must obey their laws" and not "no contact at all." I had to look it up, I guess this would be section 2 of the prime directive.
