Not sure how well it will work, but I am totally here for the energy.
@ramsey @Crell Yeah... but what executive signs off on replacing Salesforce with Occupy-labelled software?
They seem to be building a thing capital-aligned interests control the contracts for by using labor-aligned messaging.
It's neat to want to stick it to the man, but it feels like they didn't think about steps 3-5.
@ramsey Right?? Using the (imo) most-CYA & enterprise-friendly license that is still OSI-approved is a *choice.*
@Crell @linc @ramsey Meh, AWS doesn't know how to run SMB-focused products (and any B2B SaaS is consigned to that segment now IMO). They only know how to do infra things, and that only to a point.
Maybe *some* host will pick this up as an add-on to their business model, but it'll look more like ye olde Fantastico than some AWS-branded thing. But, well, as long as these folks are okay making minus 100 to 200 dollars per month off of these projects, cool I guess?
@ramsey @Crell @linc Yuuuuuup. And honestly doing this from a place of spite is worse than the tenor of the ArtCraft family of projects. At least those are "what if, and hear me out, we rewrote it in Rust" with somewhat of a business model stacked on top for when the hype dies down and maintaining the software gets boring.
@Crell I... think I am? I am struggling to connect the dots from how knockoff enterprise B2B SaaS gets sold & helps labor. Wish I understood what organization was behind it.
