@dgar I am Muthumari from Tamil Nadu. After my small business revenue dropped, I fell into debt and made mistakes that I have now completely overcome. Today, I am in a severe financial crisis and urgently need support for my son's medical needs and basic family survival.
I fully understand online fraud makes it hard to trust strangers, but my situation is genuine. Any advice, guidance, or financial aid would mean the world to me.

@dgar this right here is why the fediverse can't become mainstream yet, and might never be able to. we have loads of scammers that prey on people who don't know how federation works, and moderation that is so insufficient to prevent them that we have to circulate community posts showing what they look like and how to avoid falling for them
@dgar I wish mastodon.social would close registrations.
@dgar
The word, "ew" is in their weird & F-ed up handle but their lack of understanding of Mastodon / the Fediverse is scary.

@nlupo they may have had one - not sure - screenshot taken from a ghost of the post after the account was removed.
