@dansup but why can't you just launch things? Just let people sign up without putting any artificial obstacles in the way.
@grishka I actually have a history of doing this.
2018: Pixelfed
2024: Loops
2026: Sup
People do love these platforms, and they continue to grow. Marketing is something that most fediverse developers struggle with, and for me, I make it a priority.
It explains why Pixelfed is the 2nd biggest platform, because people know about it.
@dansup are you plan deeper integration with pixelfed?
Hi Daniel, I'm the creator of Anahita (https://www.anahita.io), an open-source social network that federates over #ActivityPub. I tried adding an #Anahita handle to Sup and it was refused. What does Sup need from a server: Mastodon's client API (OAuth sign-in, statuses with direct visibility, conversations), or something else? And could a server that speaks ActivityPub but not Mastodon's client API be supported some day? Thank you!
@rastin It checks the server on FediDB first, does your software have nodeinfo support? If not, that is why.
@dansup omfg it's the early access waiting list bullshit again.
