Trying to figure out why people on dating apps think “sarcastic” means “I have a sense of humor”
@jalefkowit there’s another character of this that i saw mentioned earlier this year that for a great long while in the hey-day of social media when even facebook was new we all got this weird pass to be wilfully gullible: i think that is a strong part of our deterministic observation in the cyberworld. we’re all pretty tired now and that isn’t really tolerable: it’s categorically “playing dumb”: in layman’s terms you’re a blade runner encountering replicants. lol
Like, I think I understand what you’re trying to say, but sarcastic people are frequently not actually a lot of fun to be around
@jalefkowit Many many years ago, I read something to the effect that sarcasm is the coward’s form of humor. I thought about it at length and added it’s the laziest form of humor. I’m not saying I never fall into it, but I try to do better.
Then more recently, we have “Schrödinger’s douchebag” to really put a point on the cowardly aspect.
Either bravely state your criticism seriously, or elevate your joke above sarcasm into satire.
@jalefkowit it’s a blanket “just kidding”
