CUPS couldn't find my printer attached over USB. I spent 15 minutes debugging from the terminal to no avail. At which point it occurred to me that I never checked whether the printer was on.
Folks, the printer was _not_ powered on.

@Screwtapello I think the idea is cool, but from a user perspective, the capabilities of USB PD devices are explained rather badly.
IIRC, you have "a device can be a power source, sink, or dual-role*", _and_ "a device can be a data source, sink, or dual-role*". That's 3*3 choose 2 = 36 possible scenarios right there, just for connecting 2 devices.
* Not both at the same time, just the device can choose.
@Screwtapello This leads to some fun shit, such as in my case, I bought a USB-C hub that's video-capable. But it's only video-capable if it's _sinking_ power from a monitor (and thus is the source for the monitor's video signal). Any other combo, the hub cannot drive a monitor.
But why bother explaining this to the user before buying? Or in the instructions? Why not have them go through Reddit posts to find the gotcha?!
