Got inspired to watch this since Sarek (the novel) ends with Spock meeting Senator Pardek and being inspired to pursue reunification.
Gosh, I feel so bad for Sarek. The times I've lost the ability to control my emotions have been among the worst of my life.
(I have extreme emotions.)
@lightspill Is the book good? It's so hard to find good Star Trek fiction that doesn't utterly bungle the charterers' motivations, speech patterns, etc.
It's been many years, but Enterprise: First Adventure sticks in my memory add being good, along with the first few movie novelizations.
