The thing I don't get is people who go "It's really not possible to find software developed without vibecoding, this is just what computers are now" and the conclusion they draw from that is "therefore we should tolerate generative AI" and not "therefore we should stop using computers"

The only hard part of using and creating no-AI software is that AI users are, by definition, liars and will often hide when and whether they used the AI. This creates difficulties in terms of accepting new collaborators or knowing where to fork. But difficult is not the same as impossible!!!

@dryad.technology There are people lying about their use of LLMs. But what makes their users liars by definition?
(Like *I'm* not stopping using computers, I am using computers, but it's because *I don't believe* that Claude Code 4.5 [released October 2025] is a necessary and unavoidable component of software development. I believe we can bail the water out of the boat and that is why I am still in the boat.)
