Feels like an extremely unpopular opinion for some reason? but I think anyone should be able to end their own life at pretty much any time. It's crazy to me that other human beings feel they have a given right to so much control over other human beings as to try and control this one ultimate thing. Even if they committed a crime, no matter what it is. Just let them go, then everyone else can move forward as needed. It's so deeply twisted to try to control this for someone else.
I've had more suicide close to me than other people I know. I never ever think of the impact on me as a factor they should have centered over their own lived experience that drove them to depart. It's their life, not mine. They get to do what they want with it just as I do with mine.
I really just think we humans all have to learn how to decenter ourselves.
