Snac is a lightweight Fediverse-compatible social network server which is entirely human-written, and doesn't require a database. You can find out more at:

You can follow Snac's lead developer at:
It can be installed via @yunohost (at https://apps.yunohost.org/app/snac) or manually using the installation instructions (at https://codeberg.org/grunfink/snac2/src/branch/master/README.md).
@homegrown as soon as a production docker image is available will be a great option
Yes, while it is a great software, there are also significant drawbacks on using Yunohost.
@smallcircles @homegrown sadly I cannot run all my stuff on a single machine and Yuno doesn't really coop well with that
I ran Yunohost for a time and found that it is good to self-host small apps. But for e.g. hosting Discourse forums it is not a good option. It disables the (fabulous) native update facility of Discourse, and the yuno plugin for the forum lagged several versions behind in general, which is particularly problematic if there are security fixes to catch up on. And then I faced problems that the upgrade process would crash with a cryptic error, and now you have Yunohost as an extra layer of complexity in troubleshooting what went wrong. What made me move away from Yuno entirely was when the Yunohost itself couldn't upgrade and corrupted the entire OS on my VPS and I had to restore from backup. Now I'm also using docker. It is the most straightforward.
p.s. By the way, Snac can also be used to create Fediverse services. @stefano used Snac to make weather forecast accounts for cities around the world at https://fedimeteo.com
