50% of all heavy (12tonne+) trucks sold in China are now fully electric. CHINA — likely one of the largest heavy truck markets in the world — at 226,000 units in the first 9 months of 2026.!
But this is the real kicker for my #bcpoli #abPoli and #canPoli friends who are concerned about LNG.
Quote: https://electrek.co/2026/11/02/electric-trucks-50-percent-china-heavy-truck-sales-diesel-demand/
"LNG trucks took nearly 30% of the market in 2024, when gas was much cheaper than diesel.
Now they’re losing to batteries. According to Kpler, LNG trucks had a 37% share of heavy-duty registrations in March, against 23% for electric. By July, electric was at 47% and LNG had collapsed to 11%. Monthly LNG truck registrations fell from more than 30,000 to about 6,200.”
That’s right kids… the market for LNG as a ‘transition’ is already dying…. In large part probably because of Trump and Putin’s oil wars.
You love to see it!
We’re going to get a new government budget in Canada this week from #Carney. Probably full of oil and gas and AI promises.
All of which are proving to be horrible investments.

This morning an electric SUV and an electric panel truck got into a pissing match on UBC campus, trapping all the other vehicles as they jockeyed to park illegally.
Which was amusing.
But even better, as I walked past the kerfuffle - the panel truck was a rental.
I think that means corporate financing for the really shallow end of the last-mile shipping industry is full-in on electric. 'Cuz they sure aren't getting federal, provincial backing.
