So, I am impressed by the Machiavellian manœuvre of #HaleyStevens .
It's hard to know when your #RageQuit is going to be most effective, and it's really got to be timed right. You only get to blow it all up once.
I think she nailed it on Sunday, two days before the election, when she endorsed her primary opponent's general election opponent.
It got a lot of attention; even from Trump. I don't know if it will help Mike Rogers, but I think it will help Haley Stevens.
Earlier in the cycle, it would have been seen as sour grapes from a primary loser.
Later before the election results, there's no time for any impact.
And after the election, it's all about the numbers.
She managed to pull it off on a quiet Sunday when there wasn't much else in the news cycle.
So in a midterm election where billions of dollars have been spent trying to get voters' attention, a whole day was devoted to talking about a woman whose defining characteristic is that she's not on the ballot.
I think it was just the right move to get herself accepted into GOP hierarchy a few rungs up the ladder.
First, strong tinge of xenophobia and Islamophobia, which goes over well with the Republican tastemakers.
Second, the event had the vibes of shouting and flipping off the entire room as you get 86'd from a keno parlour.
The fact that the Democratic Party establishment had to line up to denounce her made it even better for the Republicans. This woman knows how to pwn the libs!
I don't know if it was luck or skill, but Haley Stevens is the most well-known 2026 primary election loser in the country this morning.
