I get it now. CEOs are fine with and are pushing vibe coding because they’ve always been comfortable taking credit for other people’s work. and their lack of empathy prevents them from understanding most people are not like that.
@draNgNon I don’t think it’s a majority though. people hate the slop. of course these voices are not the visible ones.
@hbons yes, but also, they're gullible and lack the judgement to see it's a scam.
@hbons that's part of that. the other part of that is: labour. CEOs loathe labour. they see LLMs as a way of automating labour away.
@hbons what isn't so known is that CEO/CTOs get invited to Anthropic for tours where they are told and shown how vibecoding is the future. They then return for inflated FOMO.
@hbons the problem is neoliberalism, not ai.
Imagine people coding because they love it, not because they need it.
Also remember all long hours spent on non discricionary time. And consideting landlords still exist and housing is used as hedge by politicians , consider all people obliged going to office instead of coding from wherever they want
and here I am disabling single word automatic chat response suggestions in Teams (when I was still forced to use that) because that wouldn’t be authentic.
@hbons if I will see one more "Steve Jobs invented UX" I'm gonna go on a rant
@tragivictoria to be fair, did he ever claim that it is that the media buffing him up like the musk?
@hbons I don't know, but the end effect is the same in the end. One man at the top getting all the glory from the fruits of labor
@hbons sadly more people are like that than the rest of us ever before imagined
