friendship with old, crusty 8 bit microcontrollers is over.
my best friend is now smart, excellent 32 bit microcontroller hardware.

the problem is, it would require users to have a VGA monitor.
i am hoping to ship units with already integrated and configured screens to increase the 'instant-on' capabilities of the device.

yap. If you search for "CYD" (Cheap Yellow Display) on AliExpress, you can find these same displays - complete with a touchscreen and a built-in ESP32 (featuring Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an SD card slot, etc.) - for around 12 dollars.😜

@dirtycommo I'd rather go with an esp32-S3, it's the best value for money today.
