tired of waiting for parts to arrive let’s get a more interesting bike on the rack
@NNN This thing had been outside under a deck for literally decades. Fortunately it's the kind of deck that doesn't have gaps so isn't even that rusty!
It is rusty, tho'. Just... not what it _could_ be xD
@NNN None of which means you're wrong - hopefully it checks out. It's _surprisingly_ light for having a steel frame.
this thing has a lot of matching and non-generic parts, how do I even do (lol)
this does date the bike reasonably specifically to 1993
oh noes, it did
but amazingly they are _not_ all that corroded - and have a date! 07/2000. So…. installed 1997?
one of the battery contacts is literally broken in two, I patched around that and it still doesn't light up with new batteries. so this goes up to the bench to work on in the evenings. I'll salvage it if I can, of course.
@moira I have a number of those lights (bought a bunch from someone here, intending to give them away to people without lights... but since the ICE raids started no one is going to talk to some random dude giving them something visible like a light). They are not very expensive, if you can't salvage it don't feel bad. (I fixed a few of them).
@ai6yr Oh, I won't! I know trash when I see it. 😁 Still gonna try tho'!
(li'l wondering if I can get a better battery system into it, for fun)
@moira
Nice long rear triangle.
Canti brakes =
put drop bars on it and it's a Randonee
