Tonight’s movie night movie will be, “V for Vendetta (2006).” I don’t remember remember much of this movie but gotta watch it because it’s November.
@montyhayter yeah Mayday was fun. Unexpectedly so, really.
@bigzaphod Sean, you are supposed to watch V on the 5th of November, not the 1st!
@chrisdejabet the problem is that the 5th isn't on a Sunday!
@bigzaphod That’s fair. We’re doing our annual watch on Friday the 6th, anyway. But at least we’ll be able to *remember* the 5th!
@bigzaphod much like “Falling Down” (which i avoided for years), i fear watching it would send me over the edge, and a whole different life arc would result
@bigzaphod four days too early!
@BenRiceM I know - movie night is Sunday and the 5th just didn’t line up either way unfortunately. So we went with it for this weekend. Better to be prepared.
@bigzaphod An
excellent movie that (sadly) never stops being topical.
FYI for anyone else interested, it’s also back in theaters this week for its 20th anniversary.
@bigzaphod My brother was a V cosplayer for quite awhile
@bigzaphod
One of my favorites.
@bigzaphod The week’s movie night movie (our movie night is *usually* Saturday, although we seem to have a higher proportion of shifts due to life this year…) was “Mayday” (2026).
Not much to say, it’s pretty much what everyone has said: better than I expected it to be, and more than sufficiently entertaining. Also, also noted, Reynolds seems to have given up trying to play anyone other than himself, and that’s just fine here.
