Slop will not always be popular, and when the bloom is off the rose, I think it should be very difficult to repair your reputation if you embraced them in ways that aren't "my job had an AI mandate and I didn't want to lose my house" type stuff.
Boosters have sold out our communities, they have crossed the labor picket line, they have demonstrated a willingness to categorize the environment and art as acceptable losses in the name of personal convenience. They do not have our backs in matters of antifascist resistance.
I think most communities should not offer a path back into good grace after that. And if that seems harsh, you have to understand that *this is what they were comfortable doing to us first.* And you can't have that in your crew without expecting more fucking problems from these people that endanger the members worth protecting.
This is something I really particularly felt with the LibreOffice drama.
Okay. There are people who are trying very hard to protect the world, to the degree they can. You want to make their lives significantly harder? And it's because you're unwilling to make your project very marginally less convenient for the people who are actively trying to burn the world down? Get the fuck out. And don't pretend to be an ally in my mentions.
