Hmm, attempt to extend my cycling range by about 300 feet... but over a freeway? 🤔 #BikeTooter
Survived! Photos of the extremely, extremely hazardous pedestrian crossing here (no traffic lights, blind curve where vehicles are traveling 50mph, no street lights at night). Okay on Sunday morning but pedestrians put their life on danger here for sure. I have complained to the city about this location, but it is Caltrans territory. #BikeTooter #infrastructure #pedestrians
@NilaJones Yeah, that would be helpful. Anyway, don't think I'll use that side of that crossing again. The other side isn't great, but at least it doesn't have that blind corner.
@ai6yr yikes, that crossing 😬
Here's the vehicle's view of any pedestrians waiting to cross on the freeway side (hint: no view, obstructed by signs and tree). I suspect you'd be better off crossing the street and crossing on the other side, if you are a pedestrian (or cyclist, for that matter). Extremely dangerous... worse at night.
Other side, no lights, but at least you are visible to cars hitting the entrance. The other side has at least a light. The bigger issue on that side is five lanes of very heavy traffic to cross....
@ai6yr Crikey! How can they have a pedestrian crossing there😱
@ai6yr I just made the 15 miles round trip to the grocery (via car) and was almost hit (checks notes) three times by aggressive or inattentive drivers. This has been normal since about 2021.
