@chad we’re permanently CST now. Alberta time isn’t going to make it into the lexicon of time zones
@chad spent the last 2 weeks making sure workstations are using the new Alberta time, but I have this strange feeling that I'll have to fix the time on some devices.
@Stanskananski I have a rule that everything runs on UTC, but I'm sure I'm going to find things that are on America/Edmonton that are wrong...
@chad to me that sounds like a tomorrow problem lol. I also have things set to America/Edmonton hoping they are up to date..
@chad setting the clocks back 50years then one year per month has been nauseating. Yay BRT (‘Berta Regressive Time)
@chad yeah, its so confusing now lol
@dansup I don't even know which TZ settings I should be using. Central Time? It makes no sense.
@chad @dansup My coworker, who has been buried in time zone stuff all week, says that in the IANA there should now be Alberta Standard Time as a subset of Central Standard Time that does switch to Central Daylight Time.
That said, lots of products haven’t figured that out so we’ve been manually tweaking our time zone files until they do .
@ehushagen @dansup I don't even know at this point.
@chad I spent an entire workday making sure timezone files were updated and had rolling tz files for older machines.
