I'm checking out the Texmaker cross-platform LaTeX editor, which I run on Linux Mint Cinnamon with the full TeX Live distribution that comes with Mint. Texmaker is fast and has many useful features, I like it.
Texmaker seems one of the rare tools that encourage you to create, and make that work fun.
@amoroso Maybe have a look at texstudio instead. It originally started out as a texmaker fork, but a lot of development happened since then.
It has a lots of useful features, is a very actively maintained and I found it more stable.
@samcarter Thanks for the heads up.
@amoroso Thanks, I'll take a look at it. Made a lot of macro's for Wordperfect and later MSWord in 90' for text formatting. Latex was a bridge to far for our foundatation at that time.
@fenixmaster At the time TeX worked well even just on an MS-DOS box.
@amoroso And JabRef supports pushing citations directly to TextMaker/TeXStudio as well
