I've had a couple of emails just recently about a game I made 17 years ago, asking for a re-release. Is this the incubation period for childhood nostalgia?
Is anyone interested in playing a frog based puzzle game in a browser?
@ancientjames I would be *fascinated* by a write-up on how you generated levels of increasing difficulty. (Pretty sure it was less than 17 years ago for me, not quite long enough yet for nostalgia.)
@tikitu My memory is very hazy on the details. I know I had a tool that did an exhaustive search for the shortest solution, and the levels were generated by repeatedly removing a random point and checking whether it was still solvable. How I ranked the difficulty I'm less sure on. Total steps in the solution wasn't the whole story. I did do a lot of playthroughs, and some of them were ranked on vibes. I can't remember if I counted dead ends as tougher.
@ancientjames you're not exactly selling me on it but if people want it back, maybe it could be worth it.
