kinda amazing to see lots of homebrew games for retro consoles, like the atari vcs / 2600.
i learned how to program assembly in 2017 by going on the atariage forums.
but i see people, completely unrelated and unorganised into any kind of forum of community that i recognise, coming up with amazing games and software all the time.
not sure what to take away from all of this, but i hope somehow that all #retrocomputing people come into contact in some way and share their spark of joy for this.
@dirtycommo I don't particularly like large forums, you end up with either a Nazi bar thing, or now an AI bar, or some creep who's butthurt about something innocent you said, & now there's a flame war that goes on for 3 generations. Fuck no.
I came up with BBS-scale (& we had bad flame wars!), & self-publishing on your Gopher or WWW or later "blog". Someone wants a piece of me, they know what ICB/IRC/fedi channel I'm on, but I'll just block their ass if they're annoying.
