“Look at Anthropic. It's only 0.1% of Fortune 500 budgets today. Clearly, it's going to be in the 2 to 3% range, even by the most conservative estimates.” - Jason Lemkin

Half of the Fortune 500 are already Anthropic customers so the thesis is they’ll 10x their spend on Claude. From what budget I wonder?🤔

@carnage4life They’ll hop over to anything cheaper anyway.
@carnage4life IBM made their name preeminent in computers. Then Microsoft in software. Apple never caught up in those markets, but then they did it themselves with iPod and iPhone.
The AI guys would like do that, but they are too close in abilities, and with no lock-in. Buyer's market.
@carnage4life it's only anecdata, but companies I'm familiar with are actively moving away from Anthropic and OpenAI to cheaper models for coding, including some of the Chinese open-weight models. They've worked out that for 95%+ of what enterprise developers do they are more than good enough. And with the way that model prices are going, the frontier labs will need to 10x usage just to stand still revenue-wise in the year ahead.
