As a lot of traditions, it's hard to know actual origin of the #pumpkin carving for #Halloween.
It seems is related to a Mr Jack story in Ireland that tricked the devil and have to stay roaming for eternity without being accepted neither in Heaven nor Hell... and on his roaming he had a lantern... made out of a root vegetable.. that turned into a pumpkin when the Irish came to North America...then a #jackolantern

One still surprised of humans not learning anything from history... not a thing.

Even I have seen in Canada people eating #roasted #pumpkin #seeds, never to the lever we eat them in #Mexico... so for me the best of the tradition, is no roast and salt the seeds... #pepitas we call them.

@jubiloMX Part of our tradition growing up was to roast the pumpkin seeds at Halloween. FYI, you should take a walk through queens park tonight,the neighborhood really embraces Halloween.

@mike Since i moved to NW 11 years ago, I have live just on the other side of 6th street, so all of the trick-or-treating the kiddo has done has been on Queens Park Neighbourhood.. that being said.. for myself, i'm the household candy-hand-out-er, since because of being so close to the area we have a lot of visitors as well
