Since being diagnosed with lupus, my biggest symptom is post exertional malaise. Only that's not a symptom of lupus - it's a symptom of long covid. This week I pressed both my rheum and my kidney doc for answers.
My rheum shrugged away the question, but my kidney doc's answer blew my mind: "It's because you had long covid when you first came in. Your lupus is a manifestation of long covid, and you have symptoms for both."

@jkirkendall Where is that working definition? I'd like to read it. I also get post exertion fatigue and I'm trying to figure out why. I think my doctor just wants to chalk it up to my age, but it came on me pretty suddenly.

@jkirkendall Whoa! It basically says that if you've had Covid and now suffer for at least three months at a time from any of this long list of symptoms, you have long Covid. That is a game changer — just being able to trace the onset of symptoms back to a Covid infection. However, it doesn't explain how to treat it.
