I have various high quality ant photos as my computer desktop and there is a random new one each day from a folder with 100s of photos.
This is "The Ant of the Day" and my 5th grade students enjoy trying to guess where each ant comes from and how they live. Some of the ants get a "she's cute" but this one (photo by @alexwild ) was a challenge.
"Listen, I know she looks fearsome, but she's a vegetarian. She's a solder too, doing her best to protect her sisters."

I guess it depends on what you mean by "know". If you set out to learn, say, the name of one ant, and one short, interesting sentence of knowledge about it, each day, you could do 30,000 in about 10 years, assuming nothing derailed you, and the remaining 65 days a year were sufficient to maintain old memories of the ants.
