Had a wee walk by The Kelpies last week. It's been a while since I've seen them on foot, and they really are fab. Was in the vicinity doing other stuff, so couldn't pick a day with good weather, but still impressive beasts.

Tiny planet. Big horses.
And before someone tells me off for calling them horses when they're The Kelpies (it's happened before), and also because it's quite interesting...
The sculptures name is The Kelpies, and it was inspired by the mythological water spirits of Scottish folklore.
The sculpture is of two horses heads.
"The two steel horses heads are the largest equine sculptures in the world, inspired by the cultural heritage of the Clydesdale horses, draught horses, which worked hard to help people along the canals and on the land."
@eclectech Today I learned about The Kelpies, and my world is richer for it 😍
Just realised the "seen them on foot" only really makes sense if you know where they are. Just to the right off the edge of the photo is the M9 motorway, so if you're driving south east towards Edinburgh you get to see the heads glinting in the sun (sometimes) and looming over you (always) at the edge of the road as you dash past.
Which is cool. But they're better up close.
