@heidilifeldman @foser it assumes incompetence rather than malice, and does not answer the fundamental question: why is Arthur G. Sulzberger pandering to Trump?

The motivations of Jeff Bezos at the WaPo are transparent, but Sulzberger's are less straightforward. The NYT has form, during WW2 they deliberately downplayed the Holocaust even though they had incontrovertible evidence it was happening, because they didn't want to be accused of special pleading for its Jewish owners. Is that what's going on, fear? Is it the general adhesion of oligarchs for someone who is furthering their interests?

I haven't seen any good coverage explaining these dynamics, unlike, say, discussion of Judy Miller's despicable cheer leading for the Iraq War.

@heidilifeldman @foser The lie is no meant to be believed, the lie is meant to be repeated. It’s a loyalty test of the cult, and NYT is in it.

@heidilifeldman Shit like this is why I dumped my paid digital NYT sub IN November 2016. 😡

@foser

@heidilifeldman @foser Excellent.
Jen Psaki said tonight that the Republicans ran 2 fake Democrats in the Alaskan primary that didn’t even live in Alaska. Both were funded by a GOP PAC to the tune of $600,000.

@heidilifeldman @foser As long as America is in a duopoly / oligopoly, team genocide blue and team fascist red will not help anyone, except the 1%. Break the binary.
