I once lectured to @mhoye's university classes on major enterprise incident management, and this is a perfect example of what I called a "severity zero" incident response:
This incident has been rated as off-the-charts so severe that all rules are out the window, and there are no competent incident responders in the room at this point.

The executives and investors and lawyers and crisis management (PR) experts are throwing some kid under the bus they're driving in flames off a cliff, not expecting there to be any survivors at this point.....
But they're in a full panic because any competent incident responder would document how this incident was a failure of leadership, and this has to be prevented at any cost.
Their individual careers and dignity must be preserved, so let the victims all burn.
@oration @mhoye I will no doubt find the eventual book and dramatized movie about this quite engaging. But right now just as a “gee I knew I was avoiding all this crypto shit for SOME reason” tech curmudgeon, well .. whaaat the FUCK is this world doing??!?!!
