Little update on HRT in Germany, doctors can now legally prescribe injectable estradiol, laws apparently changed last year
However, also apparently you'll need a new GP referral every quarter to see your endocrinologist due to the new healthcare policies that passed recently.
@thisismissem@hachyderm.io friends have had it prescribed for years, no legal change afaik. however finding a pharmacy able to dispense it hard.
@erincandescent you could maybe find it via import or pharmacies compounding but it was rarer for endocrinologists to prescribe, especially as a primary import country was outside of DACH and compounding pharmacies were hard to find.
I'm going based on what my new endocrinologist told me yesterday, but I was starting an MCAS crash so I might be misremembering something. All I know is I can now finally get injectables when previously I definitely couldn't.
@thisismissem@hachyderm.io tbh you're the first person i have heard of in germany getting an endo to prescribe estrogen; everyone i know gets it prescribed by their Hausarzt. But if its actually available as an off the shelf formulation for injection, that's good news!
