I got this cute purple kitty personal alarm for my Mom from local online classifieds for $6. The seller dropped it off on their way out to dinner because they live 4 blocks from me.
This is useful for Mom, in case of emergencies. It has a flashlight too.
My neighbours always know if cops are anywhere near our home/on our street because I start yelling at them from my front door. A few months ago, early Summer - I yelled at a bunch of Saanich PD at a neighbour's place down the road. They had all their emergency lights on & a bunch of crime scene tape up for what I knew was another cardiac arrest emergency medical call. I screamed that they pulled same crap on our family in 2023 & my Dad died that night. I kept yelling at them to turn off their lights & stop escalating a medical emergency & that they don't belong there & to leave so paramedics can help the person. They stared at me & I kept yelling. People started looking out windows & coming outside to see what I was yelling about. 3 neighbours joined me in yelling at the shitty cops. We kept yelling at them & I started walking towards all their cruisers, saying - Get the hell off our road, social murderers! You're not paramedics who save lives. You're cops who violated our home & it was your union president leading that! Go away. You make everything worse! I hope you all get hit by cars!
This is also why I smirk instead of feeling insulted when anyone calls me a loudmouth bitch. It's not an insult, to me.

@photoncollector I'm in Canada & cops kill/rape people here too. It's systematic abuses without much public accountability.

Me: *laughing in response to her unexpected declaration, first* Mom. I meant this is for medical or other personal emergency.
Mom: The police ever showing up at our house again is a personal emergency! They don't belong here. Anytime. I'm sorry they scared me into letting them in our house when your Dad was dying. I'm sorry we didn't support you in demands for everyone to wear masks before coming into our house. I won't let cops in our house again. Thanks for teaching me how to record then on my phone.
Me: I've forgiven you & Jerry. You don't need to apologize anymore. I know the cops exploited you & Jerry because they smelled your fears & they smelled my lack of fear of cops. Always remember to never trust any government or any cops.
