@ai6yr That's a great album in spite of the lack of Steve Hackett. And it was the last great one, IMO. After that, the band was apparently abducted by aliens and replaced with pop schlock replicas 😉
@ai6yr it's certainly a market of time that the edgy music of one's youth is being found in estate sales
@pixelpusher220 Though, one feels time bearing upon oneself when your favorite actors from your youth are all passing away... and they're in their 80's and 90's 😬
Per the address label on the record, it belong to a Susan, who lived here in New Jersey some time a long time ago (I assume in 1978 or so). Given the lack of similar stickers on any of the other records, someone "borrowed it" from her after some party and never returned it. Or she or one of her family got rid of all the records without removing this one address sticker.
🤷
Other albums (none of which I have heard before), and in fact can't name any songs... lol.
Jackson Browne For Everyman
Judy Collins Judith
The Blues Project Projections
Claudine Colours (solely purchased because it's of the Herb Alpert A&M era, no idea if it's good music or not)
and... a KTEL record which I am guessing is of terrible, terrible recording quality and randomly cut tracks called "20 Dynamic Hits Volume 2"
(cheap enough to have a random go at it)
@ai6yr
These Days and The Times You've Come on the Jackson Browne album are lovely songs
If you like those, I can recommend some other JB. I was once a very big fan
@ai6yr You will recognize “Take it Easy” on the Jackson Browne album. Co written with a guy from the Eagles who also released a version.
... And Claudine (Claudine Longet) goes in the "not the music for me" pile, lol. Sounds like a 10-year old girl singing, no thanks! (it is of the Tijuana Brass era, but not of that music.)
@ai6yr Married to Andy Williams. There must be an LP or two of his in your vintage collection.
@ai6yr
I definitely listened to Judy Collins as a kid in the 70s, but I have no idea HOW or WHY.
@ai6yr Most fans of the band would call it their weakest effort, and I'd agree. A few bright moments, horrid production, very little "group" collaboration. If you're curious about what Genesis was before they were a pop band, this isn't the record to listen to.
@ai6yr I prefer Peter Gabriel era Genesis but that album's nice
@ai6yr Great album. I particularly liked "Follow You Follow Me".
@ai6yr Good album.
