There are signs on the footpath of the A7 that say
BLIND PERSONS
CROSS HERE
And I wondered, is this a notice to blind persons advising where to cross? or is it a notice to drivers to be aware of who is crossing here?
And then I realized that it can be both at the same time, a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy. A masterwork in brevity in signage.
(Smarties replying that blind people can't read the sign: some can, and some have sighted companions.)

Reminds me of a classic Patrick Cook cartoon from the eighties: a sign that says "Koalas Cross Here" with two very stern, grumpy looking koalas underneath with their arms folded.
It's my inevitable "... cross here" mental image.
@futzle this is similar to how I feel when I drive past the sign south of the Brisbane river, past the gateway motorway bridge, that says TOM BURNS BRIDGE.

@futzle Of course, the sign could indicate where blind people get grumpy 🤔
Perhaps in this spot the footpath is unusually troublesome. So the sign is a warning to others, that in this area the blind people will become angry?
