really glad that both merveilles and post.lurk are now up to date with collections and quote post support. having features roll out across the fediverse based on when the instance your friends are on get the fork they are running updated is sorta a bizarre dynamic. I don't think many feature rollouts in other software ecosystems quite feel like this

@toffo I never really learned how to do self hosting shit. I moved my instance off masto.host cause they raised the prices till I couldn't afford it
@liaizon that stuff happens even if you have the experience and knowledge and thats the funny part 😁
selfhosting may be painful as hell but its well worth it imo, even tho sometimes you just don't understand whats even happening with your setup

@dragnucs set up a bunch of docker containers + traefik on a netcup vps, and then had a bunch of confusing shit happen with the PostgreSQL db keeps getting corrupted
@liaizon disnyou use the recommended setup via docker compose,or its translation to your tools? I've been using since day one and still have to see a db issue. Even went thru multiple PG version upgrades.
stupidly now my instance is the one thats out of date cause we moved everything to some weird ass setup that I don't know how to manage without babysitting
