How many people do you think will be masked up at RJH liver clinic this afternoon?

Other than me & Mom, we saw no one else masked up when we went there the first time on September 17. Staff who worked with us put the surgical blue masks on when asked to do so. They should know better but they are still ignorant ableists & they don't take covid(or any other airborne contagious illnesses seriously).

I don't ask medical people to put on masks when they see that I have one. That qualifies as helping them, not me (it's going to be one-way masking inside the building whether they put a mask on for 15 minutes or not) and I don't feel like helping them.

@richpuchalsky I always ask because I don't want any open mouth breathers anywhere close to me/my Mom. I physically block people until they put a mask on.

I understand this, but when they put on a mask they put on a surgical one anyways rather than an N95, so I don't know if it actually helps anyone else that much.

@richpuchalsky It does help a bit more than having open mouth breathers very close to you for hours. Some masking mitigation is better than zero.

@mivox I keep getting told it's just like getting cold/flu - by both medical/healthcare staff & majority of public who has normalized covid. They treat masked folks, like me, as paranoid. We're not. We practice safety first.

@PhoenixSerenity Depressing. The severity of their denial is mind-blowing.

When the guy who did our roofing for us said that, OK he’s ingnorant. It’s not a roofer’s job to know better and he’s been misled. But medical professionals have no excuse, none at all.

Nah. I'd submit that the 'medical community' largely learned very well from COVID. Sadly the bean-counters that actually RUN shit did not learn a thing, and believe it's all a waste of money.
